This finn provides the stmctural and fire and life safety plan review services to the Cijy of
Springfield. The plans for the above project dated June 8, 2007 have been reviewed for
CQmpliance to the 2007 Oregon Stmctural Specialty Code. The canopy building will be
considered a Type JI-B constmction'with a 'Group 8-,1 occupancy.
The following items were noted as requiring resolution prior to the issuance of a building penn it:
I. The structural computations indicate a wind speed of 80 mph, but does not indicate 3 second
gust or fastest mile. The stmctural notes on plan sheet S 1 assumes a V 3 second gust"" 100 mph
exposure B. Please clarify the wind load criteria.
2. The structural computations indicate a concrete stren~h of 3,000 PST which would require
special inspection. Plan sheet S-l indicates strength of2.500 PSI and no special inspection fOT
concrete placement Please reconcile the differences between plans, calculatipns and
assumptions. .
