Citizen Recognition by Springfield Police
The following citizens are being recognized for special assistance to the Springfield Police
Department:
• Daniel Shane Meredith – assisting a Police officer with an arrest of someone resisting
arrest.
• Harry Mitchell Cooney – assisting with the capture and arrest of a suspected hit and run
driver and his passenger.
• Ray Gehrig – unarming, restraining, and holding until Police arrived, a robber
Ashley’s Deli.

• Jaime Enrique Balderas-Fernandez – assistance, along with Mr. Gehrig, with the
restraining and holding of an armed robber at Ashley’s Deli.
